Derived from the “Fever Tree”, Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil is known for its strong, fresh, clean, “medicinal” scent and for its believed ability to address symptoms of colds and the flu, such as fevers, sinus congestion, and coughing. With circulation-enhancing qualities, Eucalyptus Oil is beneficial for calming inflammation, soothing pain, easing muscular aches, and facilitating wound healing.

At once camphorous and herbaceous, the piercing scent of Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil helps open the airways, thereby promoting easier breathing, soothing respiratory ailments, and enhancing immune function. Exuding softer woody nuances, the scent of Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil blends well with other woody, herbaceous, and minty essential oils, such as Cedarwood, Tea Tree, and Spearmint.

Quick and easy recipes:

Massage blend: For a moisturizing massage blend that softens and soothes dehydrated skin, dilute 3-5 drops of Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil in 1 tablespoon of a preferred carrier oil. Suggested oils include Olive, Jojoba, and Sweet Almond. Gently massage this blend into the areas of skin affected with dryness and irritation. This has the added benefit of helping to reduce the body temperature when experiencing fevers. For enhanced effectiveness, blend 10 drops of Eucalyptus Oil with equal parts of an essential oil that is reputed to have cooling properties, such as an oil from the Mint family, then dilute the blend in 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil before massaging the final blend into the temples, neck, chest, back, feet, or any other preferred areas of skin.

Diffuser blend: For an aromatherapy recipe that facilitates deeper, more relaxed breathing, especially if the respiratory system is congested and breathing becomes laborious, add no more than 10 drops of Eucalyptus Oil to a diffuser of personal choice. This simple method is reputed to exhibit antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and expectorant properties that can help clear mucus in the sinuses, calm inflammation in the nasal passage, and help the body eliminate harmful bacteria to speed up recovery. For enhanced effectiveness, Eucalypts Oil may be blended with essential oils that are known to have expectorant, decongestant, and anti-microbial properties. Suggested oils include Pine, Frankincense, Marjoram, Lemon, and Peppermint.

Bath blend: For a soothing, skin-cleansing bath oil blend that is also beneficial for offering relief to the irritated or acne-prone skin, begin by diluting no more than 30 drops of Eucalyptus Oil in a carrier oil, such as one that is known for having anti-inflammatory properties. Next, simply add the blend to a warm bath. For better dissolution, combine the oils with ½ cup Epsom Salts before adding the mixture to the bath. Soak in this Eucalyptus-enriched bath for up to 30 minutes. This blend is also known to help relax stiff muscles.
